The prominence of Nendaz in the world of skiing is a paradox. It's a place where only a few Brits have ever been, yet it's firmly estalished as a serious player in the Swiss resorts stakes when it comes to staging major international snowboarding and skiing events.
The Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup returns to Nendaz again in 2007, on Sunday 28th January. If you can make it to Nendaz for the event you won't be disappointed with the spectacle. It's also the only parallel snowboard World Cup race to take place in Switzerland.

And if you've ever wondered what sorts of speed the really fast skiers can get up to, get youself to Nendaz for the end of the season and watch the XSpeed World Cup speed skiiing event, from 13th to 17th April 2007.
In addition to these events, there is also a Big Air contest in Nendaz's snowpark on 10th February 2007, and of course there's the infamous O'Neill Xtreme Verbier freeride contest
over the hill in Verbier, on 23rd March 2007.
