Directions from Calais to Courchevel
 

 

 

Main route
1. Leave Calais on the A26/E17, heading South towards Arras, St. Quentin and Remis.

2. Follow the A26/E17 as far as Reims, where you need to pick up the A4/E17, towards Chalons-en-Champagne and Troyes.

3. Follow the A4/E17 as far as Troyes, then pick up the A5/E17 towards Chaumont, and then South towards Dijon.

4. Follow the A5/E17 past Chaumont where it becomes the A3/E17, and continues South towards Dijon.

5. At Dijon, keep your eyes on signs towards Besancon, and take the A39 in that direction.

6. Once on the A39, stay on it and go past the Besancon junction (at about 20km), and continue on as far as Bourg-en-Bresse, where the A39 it becomes the A40/E62, signposted to Lyon.

7. Stay on the A40/E62 for around 10km until the junction with the A42/E611 (near the village of Druillat).

8. From Albertville, follow the N90 South-Eastwards for around 20km as far as Moutiers.

9. As you approach Moutiers, keep your eyes out for Courchevel signs, and filter right off the N90 and up the Bozel valley, on the D915.

10. After about 10km, and having gone past the Meribel turn-off, you will arrive at a roundabout. Take your first right, signposted to Courchevel.

11. Follow this road for a further 10km or so, climbing up through St. Bon and eventually arriving in Courchevel Le Praz.


Options between Druillat and Albertville
Route A - Motorway (but a slightly longer distance)
A1. Remain heading South, as the A40/E62 becomes the A42/E622, signposted towards Lyon.

A2. After about 35km, and before you reach Lyon, pick up the A432 Southwards, towards Lyon airport and Chambery.

A3. Stay on the A432 past the airport and when you encounter the A43/E70, bear left on it towards Chambery.

A4. After about 80km on the A43/E70, and having gone past Chambery, take the A430 (becomes the N90) towards Albertville. Stay on the N90 as you pass Albertville.

Route B - Scenic (but can get congested when busy)
B1. Stay on the A40/E62 as it bears Eastwards, towards Geneva.

B2. After another 40km or so on the A40/E62, you will encounter another autoroute juction, at which point you should take the A41 Southwards towards Annecy and Chambery.

B3. As you arrive at Annecy, you need to leave the autoroute at junction 16 (Annecy Sud) and head towards the ‘Lac d’Annecy’, looking for the D1508 which will take you along the full length of Annecy Lake Southwards towards Ugine and Albertville.

B4. Follow the D1508 as far as Ugine, then pick up the D1212 signposted to Albertville.

B5. Follow the D1212 as far as Albertville, then take the N90 South-Eastwards towards Moutiers.
